What’s been happening in Singur?
I was wondering and read an article about the twists and turns so far, to find out more !!!I am interested in the land acquisition policies, processes, the rehabilitation and employment responsibilities etc and hence was interested in the entire sage of events. If you also have been reading bits and pieces and wondering the whats and why of Singur, this should help.
or
copy paste the following link in your browser window (for me its Chrome these days) :
http://www.ibnlive.com/news/nano-saga-twists-and-turns-so-far/73066-3.html
And I came around this article today :
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/51_of_businesses_owned_by_SCSTOBCs/rssarticleshow/3456486.cms (copy and paste in your browser)
The article says that : “Over half of all business establishments in the country — 51% to be precise — are today owned by the socially disadvantaged sections, mostly OBCs, with a slim contribution coming from SCs and STs. “
Now is this just a chance? or because of a certain capability to do good things? And if this is capability, why the hell is there a fight for reservations? I don’t understand !!! I would want to believe that the so called neglected part of the society is equally capable as the “General” category.

Japanese American or American Japanese !!!
A few days back I saw a car on the road here, I recognised it and smiled because I feel good if the same models are introduced in India and outside !!! For me that represents a growing India…Honda Accord, CRV, Civic; Toyota Camri, Corolla; The Chevrolet UVA (Aveo in the US) are exactly the same models !!! nice… Ok, back to the incident !!!Everything was fine till I saw the logo of the brand, and I was shocked !!!The car looked like the Chevrolet Optra and it was carrying a Suzuki Logo… Pretty interesting eh !!!Check out the following links for yourself !!!I don’t see much of a difference !!! Do you?*Listening to Don Davis – Navras (Matrix Revolutions Soundtrack) {Fantastic track; High Energy; Sanskrit ; Rock ; Instrumental; What not} -
Let the kids stop the melting !!!
Targetting kids has been a strategy that ad-makers have been following for a long time now… and I am sure it works, because when a kid decides to get something, it usually is based how impressed (s)he is with what has been told and how it has been told to him !!!Conservation is another thing that needs to be sold this way… There are things happening already ( e.g the Smoke on Diwali in Delhi has considerably reduced after the Kids in schools have been told about the pollution and told again and told again )Looking forward to the schools making a biiiiig difference in the way the world lives today !!!Amen ! -
Percussions and Strings “Rocking On…”
I have about 30 pictures from my Utah trip uploaded already to a draft post and I was going to write about it tonight, but I just happened to “Rock On”…Farhan Bhai, aap mahaan ho !!!
Very natural on the screen, and phenomenal on the vocals (though I heard him shaking a lot in the live version of a song from the soundtrack, making me feel that his voice has been digitized)… but still boss, 10 on 10 for you !!!
Arjun Rampal looks good… fits in just where he should be !!!
The cast of the movie looked very carefully chosen… Can I miss talking about the fantastic score by Shankar Ehsaan Loy… one of the finest percussion and strings that I have heard in long time now !!! The way they have used Lead in their music is mind blowing… I am sure I am going to love listening to it full blow with Radha, as soon as I am back… Honestly speaking the lyrics are not really needed at places, because they just go in a different tangent for me.. for example the Song Zehreele… I heard it twice… and the second time, I was only listening to the music… What amazing music !!!! and ditto with Pichle Saath Dino Mein… there are parts of the song, where the vocals interfere with the music and I don’t like it, because the vocals are good and so is the music, just were just not going together !
Now I have to look for Du Hast and listen to it soon… ask me for this song if you have not heard it yet !!! but make sure you have good speakers if you are listening to it !!!
Brilliant vocals and acoustics on Phir Dekhiye… and not to miss the lovely piano !!!
I really liked the movie too and it reminded me of my days in college, the green room, the band Nakshatra, the numerous rounds of Sweet Child of Mine, the rock remixes of Altaf Raja, the amazing guitar Solos of Rahut Patrick (The simplest and the best, rather simply the best guitarist I have met), joining Nimisha for her English Solo Competitions, hearing the band practice and just being there enjoying the music, that trip to Pilani with Ankur and Pradeep where we sat in the rock competition and concert for 13 straight hours….
I am not sure if I was watching the movie, or living my college days again in those two something hours of the movie…
Ah !!!!
What a feeling !!! I Yum Loooving Eet !!!
*now listening to Session – Linkin Park !!! yummy !!! -

“For you, a thousand times over…”
It was only a smile nothing more. It did not make everything alright. It did not make anything alright. Only a smile. A tiny thing. A leaf in the woods, shaking in the wake of a startled bird’s flight. But I’ll take it. With open arms. Because when spring comes, it melts the snow one flake at a time, and maybe I just witnessed the first flake melting….For who have read it, they would remember these lines from The Kite Runner, and for those who have not read it (I doubt if that is going to be a large number anyway) I would recommend reading this brilliantly written tale of human relationships and emotions.
I am not a good book reader, and I started this book really long time back but just could not finish it for some reason or the other… and today when I read the last 50 pages, I felt relieved to say the least…
Will go back to the Essential Calvin and Hobbes now, which I might have read atleast 15 times over if not a thousand times over !
oh and enjoy a picture preview of my trip to Utah the last weekend, below…
