  • SaLaAm NaMaStE !!!!

ok… enough is enough… Saif Ali Khan has done this twice to the lovely Priety Zinta.. and i hate it… its been twice that he has made her pregnent before he got married to her…

first time in Kya Kehna… and now in Salaam Namaste… i am wondering if the second is the answer to the first.. someone asking Kya Kehna.. and somebody replying Salaam Namaste !!!!

but then all is well that ends well… and i guess in both the movies.. She gets to deliver the baby and then they live happily ever after ( what a fairy tale-ish end to something that is very close to life)

ok… on serious note… ( no pun intended.. and no sarcasm involved)…. i think the movie was very nicely put together.. i am not a very big fan of romantic movies.. but then this one had some romance involved with some fun too… and i have enjoyed watching Saif in a lot of his recent movies… Dil Chahta hai… Love ke liye Kuch Bhi karega… Parineeta… etc etc…

a live in relationship… a near perfect way to practise the saying.. look before you leap… something like “having a 30 day demo of the product you are interested in“… and if you do not like it… poore paise wapas… how cewl is that… does that work with humans.. the way it works with products… i guess not… at least here in this society where i am living… and do i want to be with someone i like for 30 days and then hearing.. sorry dude.. i like u but you are just not good enough… na… i do not want to hear this ever…

can i say that to someone… suprisingly.. i know i can say that to someone…. i guess something is missing inside me.. is that the lack of emotions or consideration of the other persons’ feelings.. well.. uh… i dunno… and this post is not even meant to discover what is missing inside me..

    back to the movie…

nice package. i enjoyed the movie… saw it on a home video… saved a lot of money… used that to order lots of fresh juice… which i loved having during the movie…

i liked the part where nick is ready to wake up early so that (H)amber get a good breakfast….
i liked it when (H)amber sleeps late so that she could meet up with Nick…
i liked it when he came and asked for the the TV cable so that he could watch the cookery show.. and promised to keep the volume low..
i liked it when she kept on asking for some dark choclate.. and he drove around the town to find it… ( why the hell did they sing a song there?.. well.. can we leave the typical hindi movie element out? no i guess not… )

i was not really comfortable watching the last 10 minute slapstick comedy done by three wonderfully gifted actors… what was that needed for.. the movie was itself very comic itself…

somehow i knew there would be a slight mis-understanding when saif wants to get things taken care of…
somehow i know that she would leave before he could tell her everything…

ok.. well.. no more comments on the movie… it was a good movie.. and i liked watching it… if you did not.. then probably you might like to just tell me that you did not.. and that is where the conversation about the movie will end !!!!

    about my weekend so far…

yesterday evening started on a not so good note.. when i had to like stand in line and wait for two passes on the IITd Annual Fest… to hear one of my favorite bands Indian Ocean… and then when i finally manage to get in… i realise that i had to sit on the third row from the front in the extreme left.. which meant that i could hear only the left side speakers.. and that too a li’il too loudly.. but then it was fine.. was listing to indian ocean.. i had been trying to get to a live performance of this band for a long time and today was the day….

    to my complete surprise…
    indian ocean packed up after singing 4 A W E S O M E songs..
starting with Arre Ruk ja Re Bande from the OST of Black Friday.. and then moving on to Hille Re, Ma Rewa and finally Kandisa… what awesome vocals combined with some extremely good fusion of instruments… love you Indian Ocean.. keep the music flowing like this only…

while i was hoping for something better to happen.. now that the Indian Ocean thingie was over in a li’il less then an hour… lightning struck.. and on the stage was a band called the tantriks… they were refered to as a Dance Band in their introduction.. and i could not figure out what that meant… untill i heard the song… O Humdum Suniyo Re.. crying for help… crying for justice.. crying for some mercy.. from this talented yet… stupid bunch of Assholes… the vocalist was good… and i know if he tries… he can do much much better then wht i heard yesterday…
the drums, the base guitar… were definitely good…

but the vocals… OH MY G O D…. i could actually throw something at them to make them shut the fcuk up!!! but then i was sitting there… still in a state of shock.. and they kept molesting the songs.. one after the other… dhoom…. koi kahe kehta rahe… some popular number from Zeher which i cannot remember right now… phew… it got too much at this point.. and i had to get up and get out of there…

my releif came from the Great Indian Laughter Champions… with Naveen Prabhakar saying.. “Pechchan Kaun” … some program that was.. thank you STAR ONE for this… u start the weekends on a great note with such an awesome program !!!!

Saturday morning… first weekend after a long long drive… and guess what..

    i had a date…
met her.. talked to her a lot.. also let some silence do a lot of talking.. and i had a wonderful time… looking forward to meeting her again.. lets see how soon !!!!

late evening.. saw the movie… the movie finished… and then i got up to sleep.. and then dunno for some reason i just woke up… and switched on the computer.. and finished writing what i thought i will just write…

ok so thats it… i have not really read what i have written… but the scroll bar on the right tells me.. its kinda long.. but then neva mind… if you are reading this line.. you might have read the entire post already.. so no point apologising for wasting your time 🙂

hope you have a wonderful sunday !!!! Good night..
may God be with us !!!

  • PiLLoW TaLk !!!

I took a nap yesterday afternoon.. and did not use the pillow i normally use !!! and after 1.5 hours.. i woke up in a very bad state… had a terrible headache.. and was feeling very very tired…

Could that happen just because of the pillow?

  • MiSSiNg HeR !!!

did not expect this day to end at this kinda note…

i really miss neha… after she has left for paris … i find it so tough to talk to anyone about whats really happening inside ma’ mind now….

there is no one who says.. nai nai anymore…
there is no one who tells me.. aise maje nai aate na…
and there is no one who will stand in front of my and make me realise where i went wrong in that day where i think everything went just right…

i kept writing emails at a regular interval for a few weeks after she was gone.. and got some replies too.. and then the frequency reduced.. and its almost nill now….

i guess the last i wrote was about the fotographs that i clicked on the rafting trip.. and then not much… but in the the brief email convo that we had last week.. seems that my feelings.. which were a mix of sadness.. and anger…came out kinda hard and she is feeling bad about me complaining…

she had left saying that i better keep writing to her regularly or else she will crib and get angry… and here it was the opposite… i got angry and i was cribbing…why…. one simply complicated reason.. expectations… i was expecting that once she settles down in paris she would have a better internet connection and would be able to write more often then not… and failed to realise that because her project would be starting she wouldbe working reeeeeeally hard on that which she is…

well whatever be the reason… i am not getting those small happy one liners that would do me good.. that would keep me happy… i am being selfish here.. i know…

i think this blogging thing is not doing much good here… coz she knows whats happening here… and i do not have a clue about what my dearest friend is doing…

    missing her bad today 🙁

  • mAgS !!!! nOw a MarRiEd wOmAn !!!

Mags got married, with Abhishek today…. they got married in the day and the reception was in the evening… i guess i was the only friend of mags’ there before priya and naveen came in (you know they have been together since prep class and are not a wonderfully married couple, God bles them )…felt excited.. felt awkward.. felt strange.. kinda many feelings together… me and mags we together in college, though she was one year junior to me.. and was a very active member of the drama society… and while i was there and when i left.. she was taking very very good care of the cultural society as well in college…

an excellent designer, good actor, good writer… she is a wonderful human being as well… someone who has been around while i was going thru my rough patches with bhoomi and then shikha…

even after we passed out from college… we could manage to keep in touch somehow.. she went to jaipur for her master’s course in designing… though i could not visit her even once in these so many years in jaipur.. but we managed to catch up thru emails or phone calls at times…
then she went to panipat to work for a rug factory as a designer…she was handling customers from Europe and US i guess for this firm actually…and all thru these years… her relationship with Abhishek grew stronger and stronger.. and finally today they got married… i am really happy for them.. and was happy to see myself there when she was starting one of the most important journeys of her life…

Mags and me had a couple of agreements.. dunno if they will ever be completed or not…one is she taking care of the room that i will stay in, basically do the designing rather paint a wall in that room to be specific…and the second that i would give her space in my three storey mall.. for a designer showroom which she can use the way she wants.. have a boutique she can have that.. or have a store where ppl find things which are rare to find…genuine art…dunno if any of these can ever come true.. she would be going to Ooty in another 2-3 months to settle down there….
This brings me to another school of thought…do you really need to plan for your life… i mean… there are so many things that you think you will do when you start thinking about life as a long term achievement opportunity.. but the way life takes its turns… things can really turn out different from what you expected…

even i had thought about a lot of things in my life.. but then life kept taking different turns and twists and i am where i am today… though not at all sad about how things are right now in terms of my life.. but then there is always a balance of good and the not so good in your life.. lemme recall what are the not so good things that i feel happened to me.. and what all good things kept me going !!!

    1) BAD : I could not get thru engineering.. that was a real setback to my parents..who had high hopes with me… Good: I joined B.Sc. Mathematical Sciences.. one of the best courses in DU and then got an opportunity to be a part of the Cultural Society… helped me spend the best three years of my life in PGDAV college…

    2) BAD : I had to breakup with Bhoomi, even though there was nothing wrong between us, but i chose to keep my parents happy instead of continuing with the relationship… Good : I had the perfect relationship with bhoomi, an understanding that most of the couples would just dream of, and had over 3 years of a great friendship, companionship, understanding, commitment, fun and laughter with her.. and at the end of it, I understood my commitment towards my parents and my family in the entire painful breakup episode…

    3) Bad : Did not get a job in IT after i completed my masters in software systems.. the IT industry went for a toss… GOOD: I still got a job, though in a “call centre”, spectramind.. where i could lay the foundation of a strong career and was guided by the best boss in the world, Bindu Krishnan. I have never met any professional more refined then her.. and she remains and always will remain as the best professional i have met..if i want to be like someone in my life.. then i wish to God that bring me closer to her maturity and understanding of life…

    4) Bad : Got into another relationship.. which did not last for long, and gave me a hell of a time…Good : This one bad relationship taught me wht the good friends never could… i grew up thanks to this affair to an more mature and a less emotionally controlled person.. someone who could be out of control from his heart and still keep his brain working for the situation

    5) Bad : Neha is going away… BEST : The kinda respect i got as an individual from her, the love and affection and friendship that is going to bind us together even if there are distances physically, her work which makes me proud of her, and her efforts to improve me as a person.. thank you neha for being such a great friend… I have never in my met someone like u and i doubt that i will ever meet a person who is such a perfect example of beauty with brains ever again….

and before i close this post… congratulations and my best wishes to Meghana aka Mags and Abhishek for a happy married life… hope everyday in life brings more smiles and joys to them… and they live happily ever after………………

What is happening these days… my shimla trip gave me so many thoughts that i cannot possibly write them down.. there is so much that I can think about.. and there is so much that i think i have forgotten… i come to think about it. and i feel there is so much load on my head that it would burst under pressure…
Me, sushant, waquar and tushar.. kept talking about life and ppl and relationships and whatever we could think of… i came to know about things which they think about, how they think about them.. and how they want to take care of those.. there is so much that i cannot even think of writing everything in here… we talked about.. who is an intelligent person… who do we think would be the ideal girl for marriage… why do we men want a different woman for a girlfriend and for a wife… tushar in his blog has writted about emotional dependence as well.. which we discussed in the bus on our way to shimla and i do not even remember that discussion…
i guess i am better off talking about it then writing it…

My thoughts from ORKUT about a topic that we can keep discussing about… its worth it.. but would it reach a conclusion.. i don’t know…

    (*_*) 10/18/2004 10:25 PM

The thread for sure invokes some serious thoughts.. but I would like to understand why do you have to start off something that is worth talking about anonymously !!!C’mon !!!!About marrying someone who is a virgin or not.. i guess that takes the back seat if you think that you can spend the rest of your life with the person.. getting married is a big decision and each and everything that might cause a damage to your relationship should be thought about… Its very hard to be honest very upfront to the person you are about to get married.. why? the reason is the fear of rejection !!!I would like to know from the gentlemen who have written posts here : Have you told all your girlfriends about your previous affairs.. about how many times you kissed your Ex. or even slept with her?

I had a tough time doing that in my previous relationship.. and we almost broke up after i said the truth !!! Things still did not work out well… but the point that i am trying to make here is that.. its easier said then done.. I respect each and every person here who says that the past of their life partner would not make a difference in their opinion and they would still go ahead and marry !!!

    (*_*) 10/18/2004 10:36 PM

Oh.. and yes.. i would marry someone who has the guts and honesty to be upfront about her past.. in fact that is going to make me respect her more then i would have otherwise !!!

    (*_*) 10/24/2004 11:24 PM

This is a topic that we can continue discussing on till infinity… Girls would most of the time assume that the guys have already slept with their girlfriends whenever they had one.. and boys would also assume the same.. we for some reason do not stop there and ask our partner if that really happened.. the fear of rejection stops us from asking this question.. and most of the time.. because we ourself have been physically close to person in our past we usually avoid talking about this topic…

Like most of us around.. i also would like to have a wife who has not slept with her boyfriend.. and i am sure the girl who marries me would be expecting the same.. but the ground reality is the most of the time in our relationships we get physically close and makes it getting out of them difficult… at times we suffer the feeling of guilt after it as well.. even though we had enjoyed every kiss which happened…

now what i feel i need to understand is that just like me my wife would also have a past and she might or might not have been physically close to her boyfriend… whatever said and done.. i would like to look at a future together and make that present better and not keep sticking to the past… it happened… its over… if she and i are willing.. we might not even let it effect our lives… words like trust, faith, commitment, love, truth, which seem only mere words after a break up… take their true shape after you have that special someone in your life…

    (*_*) 10/24/2004 11:56 PM

(This post was a response to a post by Richa)

Guys would have reason to sleep around with every woman they go around with.. and Girls if not with the same frequency, but would still go ahead and have sex… Talking about why it happened.. and why someone still managed to be untouched is something that is completely personal in nature… Cannot classify it between the sexes.. though there might be reasons why guys are seen more interested in it then females…

I did not have sex so far and I am not ashamed of it… I do not say i have reasons to be proud of it either… and i am sure.. if there are other men in this forum who have not slept with some girl would have reasons to be ashamed or be proud of the same…

    (*_*) 10/25/2004 4:42 AM

(This post was a response to a post by Tarun where he said that given a choice he would prefer to choose the non-virgin girls…)

@ Tarun : What do you mean by Choose the non-virgin girls ? I mean what do you think.. you will have women lined up in front of you with tags stating how many men they slept with or did not.. and for that matter.. how many guys would be true to the woman they are about to marry about their pre-marital affairs and how many times they had sex. Come to terms with life… what is a fact is a fact and if it happened in the past it better stay there… And not effect the future you have to have together… Also, if a guy goes ahead and sleeps around with 10 different women. he would be labelled a casanova by his friends and he would have a lot to boast about.. but if the same is done by a girl.. the same guy would not be too far away from calling her a whore and making sure that he tells the same to all of his friends… And at the same time would try to lay her down too… C’mon guys… when we talk about being practical i would still say tht being practical means taking the truth head on and see what is the best you can make out of it ..by either leaving it and accepting it…

  • MoRe YeArS = mOrE MaTuRiTy oR nOt

I got into a very interesting conversation with a friend of mine a few days back..

She was saying that men are not matured… infact lemme start from the beginning.. she told me that there is a friend of hers who is really really attracted to a guy 15 years elder to her.. and the question was why?The answer came as because Guys of that age are mature and experienced.. and all those things…she is about an year older to me.. and says that she gets into intelligent conversations with me only because she is very mature… also another thing that came up was that at one age say 25, a man would be less mature then a woman..

i want to debate this topic… i would like to understand what factor would age play in make someone mature.. am i more composed and mature by the virtue of my age.. or does that depend on things other then that too…

Lemme list the things that an average Indian metropolitan Male would be thinking of when he is 25:

    1) Get stability in career and slog for the next 1-2 years before settling down.

    2) might like to get married to his sweetheart in case going around with the dame.

    3) Look at the feasibilty of getting a house or a car.

    4) A relationship… maybe maybe not.. but hoping that it does not take a lot in terms of time.. hoping that the girl understands that job would take priority for sometime…

What would a girl at 25 be thinking of..

    1) when would she get married?

    2) An affair.. no way… its time to settle down..

    .

    .

    .

I am leaving this post incomplete.. i do not remember what all did we talk about.. but the discission was turning into an argument..

I would like to understand would it be fair to generalise that men are more or less mature at an age X then women.. and if you are older then someone else.. you are more mature as well !!!!

    May be continued…..
