1.1.11
This year has been an year of deaths!!!and no DEATH is not always bad… at times it is, however for a relatively short duration of time as compared to time itself!I knew some who died this year, I did not know a lot who did! but irrespective of this, I grew closer to death, my own, of people who are close to me and mean a lot to me, and the concept of death as a whole!DEATH always leaves a VOID… it was surprising how I felt when some friends lost their near and dear ones this year! I did not know this people except that I knew they were there!People leave, and they do that for good! leaving behind an emptyness.. something that you feel when you are shifting your house after years of staying there… You do not see the walls, you see what was there on those walls… you don’t see a corner, you probably see your favorite program which was on the TV last night…you don’t see a door, you think of the last time you opened that door and walked into the warmth of your home… you don’t see a kitchen, you see the dishes that were there which your mom cooked last week!!!The year is also coming to an end! Its dying! we cannot save it either, and that’s a fact… time does not stop, and there is no point trying either! My options being, either to welcome the new life in whatever form that its coming, or to cry about what has been lost!While I am still not able to come to terms with the concept of death and its brutal existance.. ok… not brutal, but existance!! I am looking forward to 1.1.11 -
Who do you call?
You are in a meeting!!! The phone is silent!!!
When you finish the meeting, there are three missed calls on your phone..1. Your Boss2. Your Wife3. Your Best FriendWho do you call first?And why? 🙂 -
What is! what would be?
I remember listening to this song, and songs like these on the radio when I was a kid! Felt good about the simplicity of messages being given via these!!!Cut to today, when what I see all around is a strong negative vibe about almost everything which happens in one’s life! Jobs/ Family/ Infrastructure/ Government/ Policies/ Taxes/Curruption and what not!These songs had extreme positivity and commitment in them! And I think what we are today is not because of what we do today, but what people and leaders about 30 years ago did! We are only seeing the fruits of whatever effort in whatever direction they put in! and if someone starts a change today, its going to be visible in only about a decade or maybe more!I feel extremely sad at the kind of country that we are going to pass on to the new generation! Am I talking like a concerned father? 🙂 I think marriage does that to people! I am thinking of what can I do to give my kids a better world to live in!!!Oh, and if it interests you, you can see the kid Aruna Irani @ 1.57 minutes into the first song and again at 2:49 -
Round!
It all comes down to where it started from, at some point of time or the other!
Running faster brings you closer to the beginning a lot quicker!

Numbers do play an important roles in our lives! We do like to related numbers with future, past and present! And there never is a shortage of numbers of you are interested!I like numbers too! Love them rather! Driving for over 3 hours everyday gives me an opportunity to think about a lot of numbers..~ How many cars overtook me!~ How many vehicles did I pass?~ How many flyovers in my way?~ How many times I end up in the lane slower than the right and left side lanes on the toll bridge?~ How many times I honked?~ How many time I was the last person to cross the traffic light before it turned red?And some more numbers on my desk!1. How many keys do I press everyday?2. How many meters does my mouse move everyday?It kind of moves a couple of cms every 15 seconds… lets assume two centimeters every 15 seconds,making it about 8 centimeters every minute on an average which means about 480 cms every hour, and in the entire working day of 8 hours I move my mouse for about 3840 cms or 38.40 meters! Not bad for everyday workout 😀 -
Great minds think alike! really?
Great Minds think alike!!!I disagree!
If the minds are that great, they will probably not be thinking alike, but better! if all great minds were thinking alike… All of them would have been making the same light bulb, or a radio or a telephone, or music!
But we see so many great things around us, and they have been given to us by great people with great minds! and for all I know they were thinking different to give us a variety of greatness!!!
Great minds might support other great thoughts, but they for sure do not think alike in my opinion!

In my shoes!
“Try and be in my shoes!”Heard it? I am sure you must have!I think this is a very inappropriate thing to ask, primarily because I do not remember buying shoes that did not fit! and unless someone else’s shoes fit me, there are not many chances that I am going to buy them, or the idea or perspective for that matter!Why get into someone else’s shoes then? More often than not, its going to be hard walking in them! -
Women of my dreams!
Cars for me are like women… and like most men, I have some women of my dreams!!!I am simply glad that uncle God is letting me be with a few of these dreamgirls… I wished to be with them… I hoped to be with them… and uncle is making those dreams come true!!!Every time I feel it cannot get any better, he makes me realize it can! Love you for this, uncle…Jai Shambhu! -
The Rule of Thirds
There are three kinds of conversations that a man can live with all his life1. A completely non-sensical braindump of bullcrap with no boundries on groseness or irrelevance of two consecutive words or sentences
2. A intellectually stimulating discussion which focuses on problem solving, development and/or sustainability, short or long term
3. A light hearted conversation and argument to know and tell about how much he is loved, wanted and cared for
Continuing with my mathematics (which ended up in my leg being pulled all the way from Dhaka, which I loved by the way!), let’s do some additions… tell me
1+2+3 = ?
1+2 = ?
1+3 = ?
2+3 = ?
1 = ?
2 =?
3= ?Essentially I am asking; what if a man is getting one or two or all three of these, what does it make him?

Mathematics for Dummies!
We did some multiplication in the last post, and it got me thinking about how I used to do my Maths orally when I was a kid… they say all Maths is based on one simple principle! The principle of “Addition”… all other calculations, BODMAS (Bracket, Of, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction), and so on and so forth is a function of how you apply addition to it… So much so, that if you want to subtract something, you apply addition of negatives to the original and VOILA you have a smaller value!!! To demonstrate my point for the uninitiated, here is how it worksWhat is 2X2? 4! Right? How do you reach that number, by adding 2 twice! So 2+2 = 4 and 2X2 = 4. Let’s talk more what is 13X4? (no calculators please)! It is 13 added 4 times, or to make it simpler its (10+3)X4 = 10X4 +3X4 = 40+12 = 52! Easy peezie Jappaneezee!
I remember doing all my mathematics this way!!! And that is why I could never remember the tables after 12… for some reason, I took a while adding 13 more than 5 times! Damn it!
The mantra is : Break it down into smaller blocks, and simplify to an extent that it seems to be the easiest problem ever!
This makes so much sense in the real world too… outside mathematics I meant!
Professionally, we apply the same fundamentals to do project planning, resourcing, effort management, strategy alignment and so on and so forth!
Personally!
We add (how much good we felt in the first meeting) to (how much we feel like meeting again) and reach (finding a way to meet the person again)
We multiply our (pleasure in meeting someone) to (number of times we met) and reach (liking)
We multiple our (liking) to (number of Goosebumps) and (percentage of increase in heart rate) to reach (excitement)
We know our parents love us because we add (ability to accept us like we grow up) to (selflessness of being a parent)
We add (how much we loved the person) to (how much negative love we got or how much attention/reciprocation we get) to reach (how much does it matter now) {{Of course you can be weak at mathematics and continue loving the person irrespective of the negatives that you get, screw your equations and get into a negative state of mind, where you cannot feel positive! Not even about being yourself and blame yourself for everything}}
And so on and so forth!!!
So like I said! It’s all mathematics! If you did you sums right when you were in kindergarten and ate your green leafy veggies, you might be able to handle life better! If not, too bad! Go teach a kid how to do his sums and learn something about Maths!
Life is better that way!
