  • A trip down the Memory Lane ๐Ÿ™‚

I was talking to Tunna a few days back she told me about something that she was thinking about… memories associated with long lost friends and they coming back with something that happens today… She even wrote something and sent it to me and wanted me to write about it…

Here is what she had written :

I am sure it must have happened with all of us….some things, some incidences…trigger our thoughts for someone…. The life seems to be moving fine….we all busy with chasing our dreams…but in midst of this madness how come thoughts of someone find its way… I was sharing these thoughts with one of my collegues…and the reply came..” are u unhappy” And i realised i have made the mistake of sharing my precious feelings with some idiot..i dnt have to be sad to be missing… I thnk ppl still dont realise someone can be missed with a smile…some moments wen run thru…jus leaves u wth smile.,..and only smile… this one is for all ( ths all is not the large…actually very few) my dear friends i have not been able to speak in a long time….i miss the time spend,.,..wth time i value u even more…

I feel good friends are like old letters that over a period of time might hide under a pile of books or other things, but when you are cleaning up your mess, you are bound to reach that letter again, read it, sit back and relax, and think about the great times you two had together… even make an attempt to find out where they are and get in touch with them again… distances, times, circumstances suddenly do not matter in such cases….

Good friends are also like the songs that you once loved and could listen over and over and over again, and then with time you moved on to listening some new numbers, new singers, etc, and suddenly that song plays back on the radio and you are reminded of how much you have loved, and missed that song too… just that you might not have realised it… and you just get back home and find the music you ‘love’ to love…

There are people I associate with, who have been fantastic friends and probably they are today as well, but with time we lost touch… I am not sure where they are, what are they upto, and in some cases I am in touch with them as well,

And all this while I make new memories everyday…

Some of the people and my memories that have some space in one of the other corner of my head and heart …

The walks with Nimisha and Taru, to bus stands other than our college stand so that we could miss the bus and spend more time talking and walking together,

Me and Nimisha going to Taru’s place one morning and singing together throughout and even on our way back,

A holi riot at Abhay’s place when we took out buckets of water from his bathroom and socked everyone wet in the room (God only knows how his mattresses and other stuff would have dried; must have taken ages; the entire house was a water hole),

Me and Kapil bhai walking and discussing our scripts and singing Sa Re Ga Ma from Chupke chupke ( apparently we two used to sing it very well),

My IIIrd standard fight with Sandeep when I had beaten him black and blue in the school bus and over years we turning to best pals EVER ( every evening we were sure to spend atleast 2 hours walking around the entire sector and talking whatever nonsense)

The ice cream after getting off the school bus and dividing the payments between Sandeep, Neeraj and Me… the bugger Aakash never used to pay…

The duplicate film roll that we bought from a shop on our Xth standard farewell and the messed up pictures that we go from it.. Neeraj you ass, I had asked you to buy the roll the previous day

Working with Meghna in the street plays and spending so much time talking about everything under the sun

Taking Himanshu’s bike for the interview at Spectramind.. the poor guy waiting for me till like 10 in the night in his college only because my interview formalities had not finished

Narang always telling me that I was making a mistake when I was going around with Shikha in Hughes

Adi, Me, Aro, Anmol, KB, Narang singing, “Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo…” before we used to start our shifts ๐Ÿ˜€ and anmol’s typical my name is arthurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, and me Aro and Narang adding the “teri maaaaaaaaaa kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii” in the same tone ๐Ÿ˜€

Loads and loads of conversations with Aro and Tushar in the last 5 years !!!

Haircut Trips to Ganga Shopping complex with Tushar…

Ankur calling the Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri at Diskit ๐Ÿ˜€ and that too in a video and his dialogue about the stuck vehicles on our way to Pangong… Aaj to Phencho dekh kar hi jayenge !!! and that Saale firangi, this in India, yahan everything has a jugaad ๐Ÿ˜€

And how can I forget the Up-32 at Khardungla ๐Ÿ™‚

Strange enough, I do not remember much about Ahlcon and those two years that I spent in that school, except the fact that I really liked and respected my physics teacher, Mrs. Archana Deepak!!!

There are million memories more… Can write a book about them ๐Ÿ™‚ there are some sad ones too, and even though I remember them, I choose to not talk about them here… no point !!! life is happy !!

Have a happy weekend !!! God Bless ๐Ÿ™‚

  • We painted the Weekend in Moradabad ๐Ÿ™‚

Saturday Morning: 0300 hrs… my alarm goes off!!! And then the alarm on the other phone goes off too… I had just slept at like midnight… but getting up was important… I did… Woke up Ashu (my cousin) called up Tushar to wake him up and checked with Aro to make sure he was on his way to my place…Why get up this early on a Saturday morning?
    Valid question ๐Ÿ™‚

We four were going to Sankalp, Moradabad… The same place I had visited in Feb’07… and wrote about it HERE!

Me and Aro had been discussing this trip for a while now, and last week when I realised that my travel plans were still very unclear I decided to go to Sankalp and do what was long due… So a few phone calls over the week, some bit of planning and we were all set… Roped in Ashu and Tushar as well… so we were four of us who were traveling to Sankalp and organise the painting competition…

The weather was good, the roads were good too wit a few exceptions… It did rain almost throughout the drive and at times it was too heavy to drive as well, however with one pit stop just about 10 kms after Gajraula (Reliance A1 Food Plaza) we reached Sankalp around 0800 hrs…

Found these beauties together on the grass @ A1 Plaza…
    A Bunch of Happiness ๐Ÿ™‚

I discussed the plan with Kalpana and Santosh who take care of the centre and we were all set to start the painting competition around 1030 hrs… The main centre has 100+ students and it was difficult to involve everyone in the competition, so we decided that we would let the teachers select some students from all the classes and have about 40 students participate…

We started on time around 1045 hrs and the kids finished their work around 1215 hours…

Our goodies for the Painting Competition ๐Ÿ™‚
The kids could use the water colors, or the Crayons or Sketch Pens…
    During the Painting Competition…
During the Painting Competition… (She went on to win a prize, for the strong message presented in a simple and very effective way)
    During the Painting Competition…
One of the other winners in progress…
All done ๐Ÿ™‚ ready for a picture ๐Ÿ™‚

We did manage a riot of colors ๐Ÿ™‚ and spread happiness ๐Ÿ™‚
Some of the winners ๐Ÿ™‚ It was tough to decide what was better than the other… so we did not differentiate between the winning entries.. We could not have anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

Post this we played “Stuart Little” (Hindi Version) for all the kids… (We had arranged for a LCD Projector, a laptop, the speakers and the DVD last night)… It was an amazing feeling to hear the kids laugh together and react to various scenes in the movie… One of the best experiences that I personally had EVER… So much so that I don’t have enough words to write about the entire event!!! Now there was something for the kids after the movie too… We had prepared some questions from the movie, and the kids who answer those questions right were to get prizes…

    The movie in Progress !!!

Once we finished the movie, we distributed the prizes for the Painting Competition and followed by the overwhelming question answer round!!!

The post movie huddle ๐Ÿ™‚ Had a great time here ๐Ÿ™‚

We had asked everyone to first raise a hand and then we would pick who answers the question ๐Ÿ™‚ but as you might have already guessed for 100% of the questions everyone first answered the question and then raised their hands ๐Ÿ™‚ by the end of it we had exhausted all our questions and had to make a few set with our own knowledge of the movie ๐Ÿ™‚ it was fun…

Everyone would answer and then raise their hand ๐Ÿ™‚ It was tough to decide the winners ๐Ÿ™‚

One question we asked was the name of Stuart Little’s father… Well no one knew the answer, but one boy very confidently stood up and said “Daddy” ๐Ÿ™‚ I even asked the duration of the movie ๐Ÿ™‚ when we did not know what to ask ๐Ÿ™‚ and kids answered that too without raising any hands ๐Ÿ™‚ too bad it did not have a prize ๐Ÿ™‚

    I participated too ๐Ÿ™‚
And then moved back to what I was slightly better at ๐Ÿ™‚ Capturing the moments ๐Ÿ™‚
Managed to capture a game of Kho Kho too on the terrace ๐Ÿ™‚
    Windows XP ๐Ÿ™‚ Professional ๐Ÿ™‚

Did I forget to mention that Gupta ji (The caretaker at the centre) also arranged for some Aalu, Pyaaz, and Palak Pakodas for us and the Chatney with Raw Mango and fresh Mint was just too good to resist… Don’t know if I was eating the Pakodas with the Chatney or the Chatney with the Pakodas ๐Ÿ™‚

What yummy Pakodas were they !!! Heaven !!!
Only one ๐Ÿ™‚ Love the way water rests on Rose Leaves ๐Ÿ™‚

Once we were done at the Centre we moved around in the Community to get a first hand feel of the workshops…

The melting/moulding workshop… and smoke all around!
    Molten Brass on fire…
    Still from the same workshop…
An Art on its way towards extinction… The artist spends about 4-5 hours on every piece and gets around Rs. 50 per piece…
    From the electroplating workshop…

Did not even realise how the time flew by and it was already 1645 hours when we started back for Delhi!!! All in All a wonderful day, an experience which words cannot express, and a feeling of satisfaction…

We have brought back the winning entries from the painting competition and the plan is to sell them with support from Online friends, and people we can reach via other mediums too… In one of my next posts I am going to post the paintings and if you are interested in buying one of them please do write to me @ prashantbhardwaj@gmail.com. I am currently in the process of finding out a place where I can get them framed for a decent price.

    More about Sankalp:

Sankalp is an initiative of ASK (ASKINDIA.ORG) which aims at providing educating to the children who are involved in Child Labour in Moradabad… An initiative that is not 500+ children strong and going strong with its committed workforce… The teachers for the schools also come from the local community itself, and hence help the educated local women as well.

  • and Heaven IS !!!!

And I did not mention it before…

Heaven is your darling (read Radha) with you… you two roaming around the roads for no apparent reason… just zipping past some traffic at times, or slowing time just to let some suckers move ahead and feel good…

    having the windows rolled up…

listening to your favorite CDs one after the other like there was no tomorrow…

Heaven is when you are with yourself and someone you love from the bottom of your heart… and you can’t figure out the different between the two ๐Ÿ™‚

all this really makes me feel that Heaven IS…

  • Continued from the Pas(s)T !!!

Its not really the feelings or emotions or situations, but the people associated with them that leave a certain taste in the mouth towards them and we end up having an opinion in general…

    Statements like

    All men are the same…
    Whats the Point…
Why do women have to spend so much time doing make up…
    Bosses Suck

are all generalizations which get substantiated because of similar individual experiences, a lot of which revolve around relationships…

I feel sorry to write this, but I also end up making quite a typical fool of myself every single time I start liking someone…

I like to surrender, let myself loose, expose the weaker parts of my personality, look for support and assurance, whenever I start liking someone… and more often than not, I end up like an idiot watching himself do all this…

I either over do things and try to give whatever I have, and like a normal human being, EXPECT myself to be treated like THE ONE; or the women who cannot understand how to handle me are bigger idiots than me.. whatever the case maybe.. it all ends up in a disaster and pain…

There ends the second part of the post that I had written about why I am not too good with relationships ๐Ÿ˜›

But still, like I believe… Hope is my word !!! and God Uncle my friend, who ensures that people like Tushar, Bindiya, Ruchi, Bharti, Arobindo, Abhishek, Rains, Monika and a few more, fill-in for him and be my angels !!!

เคฌเฅ‹เคฒเฅ‹ เค•เคฟเคธเฅเค•เฅ‹ Thank You เคฌเฅ‹เคฒเฅ‚เค‚? Rather… here is a hug for you people ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™‚ will Thank You later !!!
