  • Enjoy your no frills experience !!!

I call that rude, maybe some people would call it a to the point, matter of fact experience when it comes to flying domestic in this country!!!

In both the flights AA and US Airways, I think the attitude of the staff was very indifferent… and honestly I am starting to love even the low cost airlines in India only for the sheer fact that they talk to you properly… One lady in my last flight from MSP to Phoenix was sweet, but the rest of them… well let me not comment about them at all…

Found it very strange that you have to buy a headset in case you want to listen to music ( actually I did not realise that I could use my own headset too) and that you have to buy food on the flight… even though I am paying some $270 bucks one way on that 3.5 hours flight… on second thoughts I should not be complaining as I had seen in the news a few days back that because of the high oil prices most of the flights are running in losses… they are not making a single dollar earning, on the contrary have a loss of anything between $500 – $1000 per flight… But I am a customer; I should get what I am paying for!!! In double minds about this complaint right now!!!

Also it might be just me who is feeling this, but I usually get a second look because I am an Asian… there are not many that I have seen in places I have been to in the last two weeks of my stay in the US… honestly, I am still to start liking this country except for the fact that my camera equipment is cheaper here…

So this weekend I am in Phoenix… the oven city ( that’s what I am calling it) the temperature is around 105 degs Fahrenheit which is only 40deg Celsius, but because its dry, it feels as if my body is sitting in a Tandoor… already having a bad headache today and I have another two days left here, and all this when I have survived the 45degs in Delhi… i am going to avoid this sudden change of temperature from my room to outside and then back into office tomorrow.. How!! Not yet sure of yet!!!

Ok enough of cribs… here are few good moments from my flight!!! I am going to try and enjoy the rest of my weekend, hope you do too!!!

  • bright evening….

The day ends at a very bright note…

Sign : Getting a parking space, just for my car in a parking lot, which was 300% full of regular capacity !!!!

Uncle God… funny ho tum ! bahut zyada !!! but I guess, thoda late hi sahi, kuch to kar rahe ho !

Its too hot and I just cannot eat food now…. sleeping without food tonight…

  • Dhak Dhak Dhak Dhak…

    The thump of the engine….

Cool breeze brushing against your face…

The attitude that you feel from within…

The sudden change in the body posture…

The smile which more genuine than a lot of smiles on your face in the last few days !!!

And that Adrenaline rush at around 2.5K on the tach!!!

    Like a dream !

woke up… when I saw my rushing ahead of me Ponch !!! 🙁

but then 🙂 I still was flying 🙂

  • An Evening Alright !!!

My first visit to a 5 star hotel’s restaurant in Central London… Called the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.
    Amazing service for two reasons…
Thats how it is in the Park
and it was the Pastry Chef’s birthday
So we ordered our starters and the main course…
In addition to the Chinese Spring Rolls, The French Asparagus Salad, The Thai PakThai, The Indonesian Nasi Goreng which we ordered, kitchen made some “not on the menu” dishes only for us… The Arabic Pita Bread with Humus, and the Chinese Dimsums… very interesting food this was…
And I was asking Abhishek to tell me the best dessert in his kitchen, and when we checked for desserts we were told that we cannot order it because the kitchen had prepared something for us… again not on the menu… So we had something made of Hazelnut cream, black berries, strawberries, raspberries, blue berries, and choux… suppa duppa…
Thanked the people around for the amazing dinner and then walked to Piccadilly for my so far favorite club in London, the Strawberry Moons… the inhouse DJ plays amazing music and even with my very limited knowledge of songs I enjoyed the beats that make you move… and to add to icing on the cake, he played Summer of ’69, Jump, You Give Love a Bad Name, Wake me up before you go, Grease and a few more that I knew…
and now time for the highlight of the night… Picture this..
    A platform for pole dance…
lovely young women dancing there (no these were not performers, these were the guests at the club who could do their 30 seconds or minutes to fame)
and my friend Abhishek decides to enjoy his birthday doing some pole dance with a girl there… comes down of there after 15 minutes and then is dragged up again by a blonde who literally takes all his clothes off doing the pole dance with him… So my dear friend cheers the crown up with some topless dancing for sometime and becomes an instant celebrity !!! This should be good for a birthday 😀
And we left only when the music stopped which would have been around 0300 hrs…
this does not look like and end to the post… 🙂 its not… the weekend is still on… two more days to go… lets see whats happening… It might just be like all the other weekends… Ghar, Movie, TV Food and a relaxed time….
  • A Date with Friday Evening…

~Come back home early… Ok atleast try to… 30 minutes early is good enough…~Don’t change…

~Sleep in what you were wearing…

    ~Wake up whenever…

~Find out what time it is… (No Idea why this is important, but I tried to find the time as soon as I woke up)

~Think of something different to eat…

~Think of a nice movie to watch… now that you have slept for a while, you can stay awake longer…

I am kinda stuck at the last step now..

    I have

    • The Shawshank Redemption
    • Silence of the Lambs
    • The American Gangster
    • Goodfellas
    • Momento
    • One flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest
    • Pulp Fiction
    • Ned Kelly

I have never been an english movie buff, and I never cared to make an attempt to watch the classics so far. Thanks to Lalit, who helped with finding out what all I can watch, I made a move in that direction. Let me do an Inky Pinky Ponky and choose my movie for the night…

Oh, I think I have Manorama – Six Feet Under too…

    So here is the plan…

Lemonade and Pineapple Juice, some noodles, Doritos and one or two of these movies… You are welcome to join in !!!

    Song in the background :
    धम धम धडाम धढैय्या रे , सबसे बडे लढैय्या रे … ओमकारा ….

I love the way this song has been sung… Infact the rest of the songs in this movie also have the folk touch that I love to love like in Beedi and Namak…

Can’t Forget how Saif Ali Khan did Langda Tyagi to perfection… Amazing stuff… Another movie where he impressed me a lot was Ek Haseena Thi…

anyway… I should get back to the angrezi movies and go to the kitchen to make my dinner…

Adios… May God be with us…

  • keep walking..

    Happiness…

    is

    Music

    specially when you are walking

    on a road

    which has minimum traffic

    in a weather

which is cold and wet but its not raining

    and you are hit

by wind on your face… lets call it cold breeze for pleasure 🙂

    and रफी साहब sings

    गम और ख़ुशी मे फर्क न महसूस हो जहाँ
    मैं dil को उस मुकाम पे लाता चला गया

(Gham aur Khushi Mein Fark Na Mehsoos ho Jahan
Main Dil ko Us Mukaam Pe Laata Chala Gaya)

I was smiling throughout my walk today i guess…

    Thanks to

    Manna डे who sung… आयो कहाँ से घनश्याम
    Kishor दा who sung… एक हसीना थी एक दीवाना था
and a few other lovely singers who gave me company…

aaj maza aa gaya… sach !!!

    ello… ek aur mast gaana…

    jihal-e-masti mukun baranjish
    Bahale hijraan bechaara dil hai…

    sunai deti hai jiski dhadkan
tumhaara dil ya hamara dil hai…

wo aake pehlu mein aise beithe
ke shaam rangeeen ho gai hai…

    zara zara si khili tabiyat
zara si gamgeen ho gai hai…

aisee evening ke liye clapping !!!!

    God bless
