  • Quotes (The Bridges of Madison County)

“Things change. They always do, it’s one of the things of nature. Most people are afraid of change, but if you look at it as something you can always count on, then it can be a comfort. “

  • Dev Anand is here to stay!

He might have died yesterday, however he is going to be around for as long as time stays! For as long as people would be

    • going on long drives
    • playing Antakshri
    • participating in singing competitions
    • singing to feel good
    • watching classic India Cinema
    • enjoying listening to oldies by Hemant Kumar, Kishor Kumar, Mohd. Rafi and such

Dev Anand is not going to sign any new autographs for sure, but what he did is going to remain!

    Forever!

And if I talk about myself, Dev Anand’s golden collection from HMV is going to be playing in my car every single time I drive back home from long drives! I call it the “driving home” music! I would not even know where to start from when it comes to selecting a favorite, however here is one that seems apt today!!

  • The time of the year

    to take long walks!!!

I work night shifts, and come out of the office building for a cup of tea late evenings or around 10ish… and love the nippy air!

Feel that its the perfect time to take long walks or go on long drives, or a vacation for that matter… This time of the year seems perfect for so many things!

  • Bran(d)ependent

Its surprising how our dependence on things increase over a period of time! More often than not, we adults label this as lack of simplicity in our lives!

I am working from home today and have a few gadgets around me, triggering how much I need all these brands for my day! Surrounded by brands, here is a quick reconciliation of some of the names I can see around myself…

    • Apple
    • Bose
    • HTC
    • Blackberry/RIM
    • Lenovo
    • Canon
    • Casio
    • Panasonic
    • Neelgagan
    • Hindustan UniLever
    • Sony
    • Roots
    • Whirlpool
    • IFB
    • Airtel
    • Samsung
    • Hot Wheels
    • Bombay Dyeing

What I am really missing is a lot of stuff from flea markets that I have always wanted to buy! Someday for sure!

(Hum Deewano ki kya hasti)

Meghna had given this poem to me on a piece of paper back in college… I found it a few weeks ago again, while cleaning up… and now thought of putting it at Chai ki Dukaan too! Poems and Chai could be a deadly combination actually! As far as I remember a lot of our creative work back in college took place while we were having tea at a Chai ki Dukaan “up the hill across the road down the street” from college… beautiful days!

  • Fatherhood

Its a phase that you enter as soon as your baby is born, however the feeling takes a while to sink in!

    • I love that baby in my room!
    • I have looked at her for hours without moving a bit, not really sure why!
    • I have been very concerned about jaundice situation, while knowing that its usual for new borns to go through!

And so on and so forth! But do I call myself a father as yet? I don’t think so…

I think this title cannot be bestowed upon someone just because a baby is born! I would have to earn it!

    Soon enough!  I hope!

  • Upside to free falling

“No matter how hard you fight it, you fall! And its scary as hell! Except there is an upside to free falling. Its the chance you give your friends, to catch you…”
